Thai Chef Sushi Bar Restaurant Happy Hour Review

1712 Connecticut Ave.
Washington, D.C. 20009

Happy Hour Served Everyday from 4pm - 7pm (except holidays)
Neighborhood: Dupont Circle
Specials: Cocktails, Beer, Wine, & Sushi

Thai Chef Sushi Bar Restaurant stands out from the average happy hours in D.C. by offering both food and drink specials. While the restaurant itself is rather small, the menu is extensive with over 20 drink options all priced at $4. My friend and I each ordered 2 cocktails each, to allow for optimal cocktail tasting. I started with a Pina Colada, which was served in a large hurricane glass; they definitely do not downsize their cocktails for Happy Hour. My friend J. started with a Margarita. Both drinks were tasty; the Pina Colada could have used a bit more time in the blender, but the margarita was spot on. The Margarita was so spot on J. ordered a second. I decided to enjoy a Summer Lemonade. Again another yummy cocktail. Overall their cocktail selection is one of the best you will find for the price.

Margaritas.
Pina Colada.
Summer Lemonade.

There are not many places that included blended cocktails on their Happy Hour menu. Now on to the sushi, J. and I opted to order Spicy Crunchy Albacore, Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll,  Spider Roll, and Shrimp Tempura Roll. Not only were all of the rolls delicious but huge in comparison to other DC sushi bars. These weren't the cheapest of the sushi specials but definitely worth the few extra dollars. My favorite of the rolls was the Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll.

Sushi Rolls.

Stay tuned for my next post because happy hour is the best hour and there is no better place to spend it than in the nation's capital.
